Secure, Simple and Safe: A Paxton Door Access Install

Keeping the right people in and the wrong people out is one of the simplest ways a business can protect its staff, stock and data. We recently finished a door access control installation for a local business in Manchester, built on Paxton, one of the UK’s most trusted access control brands.

Here’s a quick look at what we fitted and why it matters.

The brief
The client wanted to control who could get through their main entrance and internal doors without handing out keys, while keeping exits quick and safe for everyone in the building. They also wanted a tidy, professional finish that wouldn’t look out of place in their premises.

What we installed
● Paxton door controller. The brains of the system sit in a neat, wall-mounted enclosure close to the door. It decides who gets access and when, and keeps a record of every door event.
● Touch-free exit button. Staff and visitors leave with a wave of the hand, with no button to press. It’s quicker, more hygienic and the illuminated ring makes it easy to spot.
● Press-to-exit button. A clearly labelled, robust stainless-steel button for doors where a traditional push button suits best.
● Emergency door release. Next to each exit we fitted a green emergency break-glass unit. In an emergency, one push cuts power to the lock so the door opens straight away, even if something else in the system fails.
● Fobs. We supplied fobs ready for the client to program for their staff whenever suits them.

Safety comes first
Good access control is never just about locking doors. Every controlled exit needs a reliable way out, which is why we always pair the exit buttons with a green emergency door release. It means the building stays secure day to day, but nobody is ever stuck behind a locked door when it matters.

Why Paxton?
Paxton systems are reliable, easy to manage and grow with your business. Adding a new starter or removing a leaver takes moments, lost fobs can be barred instantly, and you can see who came and went and when. Doors can be added later without starting again.

The finished job
Everything was installed, tested and handed over with minimal disruption to the working day.
