Emergency Fibre Repair at Local School

With the new school term just around the corner, we were called out to carry out an emergency fibre repair. Connectivity is crucial for both staff and students, so getting the network back online before the start of term was a top priority.

Identifying the Issue

The problem was traced to a damaged fibre connection. Our first step was to inspect the existing cabinet and network layout inside the school. The issue was quickly isolated, and we were able to plan the repair.

External Fibre Work

The external cabling was also checked to make sure there was no additional damage. A weatherproof junction box was used to house the fibre, keeping it protected and tidy.

Fibre Splicing & Termination

We carefully prepared and spliced the fibre cores, ensuring minimal signal loss. Each strand was managed within the splice tray, and terminated neatly to allow quick identification and maintenance in the future.

Testing & Handover

Once the splicing was complete, the fibres were tested for continuity and performance. With everything confirmed, the school’s network was back online and ready for the new term. Another successful emergency repair completed.

At Fathom IT, we understand how important reliable connectivity is for schools and businesses. Whether it’s a planned installation or an unexpected emergency, our team is ready to deliver fast, professional solutions.
